The Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) says no public holiday will be granted to public servants during the Outapi constituency by-election.
This was confirmed by OPM spokesperson MaxImus Halwoodi on Sunday.
Halwoodi was responding to concerns from government employees who work in other regions but are registered voters in the Outapi constituency.
The by-election is slated for 29 September.
“The voting process is going until 21h00 at night, this means there is enough time for public servants to go cast their vote after work. We, therefore, urge employers, be it private or public, to make arrangements to ensure that everyone exercise their right and vote,” he said.
Independent Patriots for Change candidate Fillemon Shikwambi and Swapo’s Selma Asino are contesting for the council seat.
