NO date has been set yet for the announcement of who will be the new coach of the Brave Warriors, after the interviews for the job were concluded last week Tuesday.
Namibia Football Association (NFA) spokesperson Beau Kauta told The Namibian Sport that it was difficult to set a date for the announcement, because there were contractual negotiations that needed to be concluded first. “It is difficult to say when he will be named. The NFA has to sit with this man and discuss the offer at hand and see if he would accept it or not,” Kauta said.It has been over a year that Namibia has been without a permanent coach and the appointment, which was supposed to be made earlier this year, was put on ice because there was no funding. The NFA has now secured funding and held interviews with two candidates – Zimbabwean-born Shepherd Murape and Ben Bamfuchile from Zambia.A source told The Namibian Sport last week that a coach would be named at the launch of the NFA Cup, but football authorities decided that they needed more time to seal the contract. It is not yet known what the new coach would be paid, but The Namibian Sport understands that it will be based on his performance with the national team. The new coach will be responsible for leading the Brave Warriors into their first Cosafa Castle Cup match, which is slated for July 22 in Windhoek against Seychelles.”It is difficult to say when he will be named. The new coach will be responsible for leading the Brave Warriors into their first Cosafa Castle Cup match, which is slated for July 22 in Windhoek against Seychelles.
