THE Namibia Football Association (NFA) has not received a single application after advertising the position of chief executive officer on May 23.
The closing date for applications is June 14. NFA spokesman Beau Kauta yesterday confirmed to The Namibian Sport that not a single application has been received since the position was advertised.”I am sure we will get applicants who are interested in the job.Normally they wait until the last few days before they submit their applications. It is just a matter of waiting a little bit longer,” he said. The NFA needs a new chief to run the administration of football in the country after its former secretary general Alpheus Gaweseb was fired.Barry Rukoro is currently acting as secretary general. The football mother body has set high standards for the position, including at least ten years’ experience of which five must have been at senior management level, preferably in a business environment. It also wants someone who has knowledge of all the relevant policies and programmes in Namibia and internationally and should also have evident business connections. The NFA did not elaborate on the academic qualifications needed, but stated that the person should have tertiary qualifications.NFA spokesman Beau Kauta yesterday confirmed to The Namibian Sport that not a single application has been received since the position was advertised.”I am sure we will get applicants who are interested in the job.Normally they wait until the last few days before they submit their applications. The NFA did not elaborate on the academic qualifications needed, but stated that the person should have tertiary qualifications.
