!Nkongo community college empowers youth with reusable sanitary pads

The !Nkongo Community College has trained 108 individuals across the country since 2023, equipping youth with basic sewing and business skills.

The school presented reusable sanitary pads during prime minister Elijah Ngurare’s visit to the institution. These pads are distributed to schools in remote areas.

In 2023, the institution trained ten young women from the Mukwe constituency who produced 500 washable sanitary pads and uniforms. These were donated to Ndjabeka Primary School at the Namibia-Angola border and to marginalised learners in the Ohangwena region.

The training was supported by Debmarine Namibia through its corporate social responsibility initiative.

The college continues to host hospitality and tourism and technical and vocational education and training programmes to empower youth and address social needs.
