Nigeria’s Sinach to lead Windhoek gospel concert

Windhoek’s much-celebrated Restoration Concert will return for its third edition on 22 November, reviving the spirit of unity and praise at Hage Geingob Stadium.

The organisers say Sinach, the celebrated Nigerian worship leader, will be this year’s headline performer.

Known for her gospel anthem ‘Waymaker’, she has spent 12 consecutive weeks at number one on the Christian Billboard charts and holds numerous international awards. She also recently released her latest single, ‘Ulungile’.

Beyond her music, Sinach is a dedicated philanthropist through her Joseph and Sinach Foundation, partnering with local government and Emzor Pharmaceuticals to deliver vital healthcare services to underserved communities.

Florek Harris, from Project Never Walk Alone, says: “We are honoured to welcome Sinach, and believe her presence will elevate our message of hope and restoration even further.

She has a gift that connects with people’s hearts, and this year’s concert will be something special.”

The Restoration Concert has made headlines in previous years. In 2023, Joyous Celebration from South Africa headlined alongside Namibian gospel artists including Dee’A, D-Naff, and the Collective Singers.

Last year saw The Unveiled from Zimbabwe and Dr Hlengiwe Mhlaba from South Africa grace the stage.

The events were celebrated for bringing gospel music and healing to thousands of worshippers.

This year’s programme will not only celebrate international worship but also uplift local talent.

Auditions will open soon for upcoming Namibian gospel artists, giving them the opportunity to share the stage with Sinach.

Harris also highlighted the financial challenge of hosting an event of this scale.
“Restoration 3.0 has a total budget of N$2.4 million.

We have no sponsors, and ticket sales cover only about 50% of the cost. This is not a commercial event for profit-making but a gift to the nation as we close the year.

We are asking corporates, churches, and the public to help us fill the stadium.”

To make the event accessible, buses will transport attendees to and from Windhoek.

The team is encouraging companies to buy group tickets for staff and churches to promote the concert to their congregations.

Ticket prices are as follows: General admission – N$100, Golden Circle – N$300, VIP seat – N$2 000; VIP booth (25 seats, including food and drinks) – N$50 000.

Tickets are available via Webtickets and at the gate.
