THE Katutura Magistrate’s Court yesterday became the official battleground for the National Housing Enterprise (NHE) and eight former managers dismissed from the company last year.
The ex-employees have all filed cases of unfair dismissal against the company, after almost nine months of failed negotiations ended last week. The case was postponed until May 14, when a hearing date will be set and a formal application is expected to be made.It is also expected that when the case resumes, a group of 19 former workers who were dismissed from the NHE during the same period, and who had also been involved in their own series of failed negotiations with the company until last week, will be added as complainants. The former managers were represented by Metcalfe Legal Practitioners, while the company was represented by PF Koep & Co.The case was postponed until May 14, when a hearing date will be set and a formal application is expected to be made.It is also expected that when the case resumes, a group of 19 former workers who were dismissed from the NHE during the same period, and who had also been involved in their own series of failed negotiations with the company until last week, will be added as complainants. The former managers were represented by Metcalfe Legal Practitioners, while the company was represented by PF Koep & Co.
