NFA Needs A Clean Sweep

NFA Needs A Clean Sweep

ALLOW me to express my opinion on Namibian football.

After so many years of disappointments, I believe the time is right to get rid of everybody functioning in any capacity at the NFA – from the security guards to the cleaners, to the president, dismiss them all. And the new committee should be elected or appointed to take charge of the running of football in Namibia.I believe this could be the only way we can improve in soccer as a nation.Look what has happened at Sam Nujoma Stadium on Wednesday night. The entire Namibia squad consisted mostly of ‘cows’ – bulldozers at work without drivers, useless players. In the backline of the Namibian first eleven, the only outstanding players were H.Toromba and F.April.In the engine room we have the amazing L.Shatimwene; the rest were cows.Upfront we have the terrific captain Botes. And that’s it.Can you image three cows plus a cow who are supposed to handle the ball scoring an own goal? Look at those overseas-based driverless bulldozers, wasting the NFA’s money. The SA team was also cloven-hooved, but unlike Namibia who used bare hooves, they used soccer boots and this is why they managed to win the encounter. No project could be successful if the project managers are fighting. This NFA saga needs urgent answers.SH Shomeya Via e-mail * This letter has been edited.EditorAnd the new committee should be elected or appointed to take charge of the running of football in Namibia.I believe this could be the only way we can improve in soccer as a nation.Look what has happened at Sam Nujoma Stadium on Wednesday night.
