New Labour Bill’s Missing Links

New Labour Bill’s Missing Links

Dear Minister Alpheus !Naruseb, APART from outlawing the labour hire companies, which the same Parliament has legalised some years back, why is the new Labour Bill silent on the following: The terms of office of the Labour Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner, and The duties and functions of the Deputy Labour Commissioner.

It is very interesting that since its inception around 1992, there was no evaluation or re-evaluation that has taken place in that office. That means the officers in charge are treated as “Permanent Commissioners” by serving without the duration or terms of office while they were politically appointed. Why? The current Labour Commissioner is perceived to be operating in a one-man show as he does most, if not all the work by himself, without delegating his subordinates. Can you, Mr Minister, consider these concerns before the Bill becomes a law which will take us time to re-do once again?
