New clinic opened at State Hospital

The newly renovated Communicable Disease Clinic at the Katutura State Hospital was opened by Health Minister Richard Kamwi and a representative of the US government last week.

The United States government donated N$4 million for the renovations through the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief. The Emergency Plan has also provided over N$100 million to fund staff, drugs, equipment, and testing at State clinics nationwide this year.The new clinic will offer voluntary HIV counseling and testing as well as anti-retroviral treatment for people infected with HIV-AIDS.There are five doctors, seven nurses, one pharmacist and one data clerk working at the clinic.The Emergency Plan has also provided over N$100 million to fund staff, drugs, equipment, and testing at State clinics nationwide this year.The new clinic will offer voluntary HIV counseling and testing as well as anti-retroviral treatment for people infected with HIV-AIDS.There are five doctors, seven nurses, one pharmacist and one data clerk working at the clinic.
