A car belonging to Namibia Economic Freedom Fighters deputy president Kalimbo Iipumbu burnt down near Oshakati on Saturday.
Iipumbu told The Namibian on Sunday that the vehicle caught fire while he was driving along the Oshakati–Ompundja road.
“I was driving at about 80km/h when I noticed smoke inside the car. I stopped and opened the bonnet, and the car was already on fire. We started offloading everything we could, and then just stood there watching as it burnt,” Iipumbu said.
Iipumbu said he was travelling with his family at the time of the incident.
