The 2025 Nedbank for Good Series final is set to take place tomorrow at the Omeya Golf Club, where a total of 25 finalists will contest for top honours. The event kicks off at 10h30, bringing Namibia’s top amateur golfers together for a day of fierce competition while supporting a noble cause at the same time.
Prizegiving of the Nedbank for Good Series will take place on the same day from 18h00, where the winners will be announced as well as the announcement of how much money was raised in this years’ competition towards this years’ beneficiary – Agra Provision.
The finalists are made up of all the winners of the Nedbank for Good regional events. This showcases the widespread appeal and reach of the series and it’s purpose of taking the game of golf across the country.
The top contenders from Omeya, Oranjemund, Gobabis, Okahandja, Mariental, Oshakati, Grootfontein, Outjo, Henties Bay, Swakopmund, Walvis Bay, and Windhoek will clash on the greens on Friday, promising a high-stakes and competitive showdown in this thrilling final.
Series organiser, Dan Zwiebel, has expressed immense pride in the series’ growth and impact over the years.
“This year marks an exceptional occasion for us. While last year’s highlight was raising N$1 million, we’re proud to have added three new venues this year, enabling us to reach all 13 registered golf courses in Namibia for the first time.”
Zwiebel highlighted the positive impact of the series on these smaller communities, noting that each of these towns has a very special story. ‘Seeing local fraternities invest in preparing their golf courses was fantastic. One could feel a definite upbeat mood in these small towns, and that was a big highlight for us this year.’
Preparations for the upcoming final event are in full swing, and the curators have paid close attention to detail to ensure a memorable experience for the players. The finalists will receive VIP treatment, including free accommodation and transport.
Significant impact
The Nedbank for Good Series continues to make a significant impact on both the Namibian golfing community and the charities it supports, reinforcing its status as a leading event on the national calendar.
JG van Graan, Nedbank Namibia’s Chief Commercial Officer, paid tribute to the finalists and wished them well in the final.
“Your dedication and skill have brought you to this point, and we’re incredibly proud of all of you. You are all winners in our eyes.”
He also underscored the profound effect of the series’s charitable component, which will benefit Agra ProVision this year.
“The proceeds from this series directly support Agra ProVision, an organisation dedicated to providing essential training, services, and support to underserved agricultural communities. This initiative speaks directly to our commitment to making a tangible difference in the lives of Namibians by fostering sustainable development.”
