The gods of politics have finally smiled on National Democratic Party (NDP) leader Martin Lukato Lukato.
The NDP won one seat in the National Assembly, sending Lukato to parliament, in the National Assembly election of 2024.
The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) announced the election results on Tuesday evening.
Lukato told The Namibian on Tuesday afternoon that he was happy to serve Namibians.
Expressing optimism and patience as the election results continued to unfold, Lukato said he is prepared to serve the nation.
“If God will lead me to the house, then I will do more than when I was outside the house, will do so because of them, because you know some people put people in power. Their votes will lead me to enter the parliament,” he said.
Lukato added he was prepared to patiently wait until the finalisation of the election results.
“Let me appreciate the Namibian people, those who have voted for me and for the NDP,” he said.
