Ndaitwah best man at Zim vice president’s wedding

Former Namibian Defence Force chief Denga Ndaitwah was the best man at Zimbabwean vice president and former military chief Constantino Chiwenga’s wedding a few days ago.

Chiwenga tied the knot with his wife, colonel Miniyothabo Chiwenga, at St Gerard Catholic Church in Borrowdale, Harare.

According to News Hawks, a Zimbabwean investigative newspaper, the two former military chiefs enjoy cordial relations and Ndaitwah, who is the husband of Swapo vice president and Namibian deputy prime minister Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, was the best man at the nuptials.

The wedding was described as an opulent affair, attended by the who’s who of Zimbabwean society.

While Chiwenga is viewed as a potential successor to president Emmerson Mnangwagwa and was the mastermind of the coup d’état that toppled former Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe in 2017, Ndaitwah is poised to be Namibia’s first gentleman, as his wife is set to be Swapo’s candidate in next year’s presidential election.

Ndaitwah was the chief of the NDF from January 2011 to the end of December 2013.
