NBL outsources to Etosha Transport

NAMIBIA Breweries Limited, a subsidiary of the Ohlthaver & List Group of companies, has appointed Etosha Transport (Pty) Limited to manage NBL’s Windhoek warehousing and long-distance transport operations.

NBL’s Dixon Norval said this was done in line with the company’s three-year strategic plan to reduce costs and improve service delivery by focusing on the core business of NBL. Norval said a joint-venture partnership would be established between Etosha Transport and the O&L Group in order to create, for the longer term, a shared services platform for Etosha Transport to provide logistics services to O&L.The agreement would also provide for the creation of an empowerment enterprise.Details of the partnership, the various service level agreements and structure of the empowerment enterprise were being negotiated and Norval said NBL’s aim was to conclude the negotiations towards the end of October.Etosha Transport is a wholly owned subsidiary of Imperial Logistics, one of the largest logistics service providers in southern Africa.The company runs a fleet of more than 5 000 trucks and manages more than 50 000 square metres of warehousing in South Africa, using the latest state-of-the-art technology in the logistics field.Norval said a joint-venture partnership would be established between Etosha Transport and the O&L Group in order to create, for the longer term, a shared services platform for Etosha Transport to provide logistics services to O&L.The agreement would also provide for the creation of an empowerment enterprise.Details of the partnership, the various service level agreements and structure of the empowerment enterprise were being negotiated and Norval said NBL’s aim was to conclude the negotiations towards the end of October.Etosha Transport is a wholly owned subsidiary of Imperial Logistics, one of the largest logistics service providers in southern Africa.The company runs a fleet of more than 5 000 trucks and manages more than 50 000 square metres of warehousing in South Africa, using the latest state-of-the-art technology in the logistics field.
