NBL donates 100 desks to Omusati school … 600 pupils at school without chairs

NAMIBIA Breweries Limited (NBL) on Thursday donated 100 desks to Niilo Taapopi Secondary School at Okahao in the Omusati region.

According to information provided by the school, it has 1 002 pupils, but only 400 of them have proper chairs.

Speaking at a handover ceremony at the school, principal Shivute Beleke encouraged the private sector to continue to invest in education because the government alone cannot do everything.

“In order for school children to pass, they need good comfort so that they can concentrate on their studies,” said Beleke.

He and also Omusati region chief inspector of education Shali Kankondi asked the school’s pupils to take good care of the desks.

Kankondi thanked NBL for the donation. “Thank you for making sure that the education of learners at Niilo Taapopi Secondary School is going forward,” he said.

Speaking at the same event, Okahao constituency regional councillor Leonard Shikulo encouraged pupils to take their education seriously.
