JASON Naule was re-elected as chairman of the Khomas Boxing Federation at its annual general meeting last weekend.
Naule, will now serve for a second three year term, along with the vice chairman Joel Mungungu and the secretary general Ngendinomuwa Andimba who were also re-elected. The only newcomer is Mwila Musolo, who replaces John Mbenge as the treasurer. The public relations officer is Manager Zesora Tjipe.
Naule said he was looking forward to the challenge but also a bit worried about the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Im excited that the federation has shown confidence in my leadership, but I’m also cautious because boxing is not really funded and we are facing a serious challenge with the Covid 19 pandemic.
“We built a bit of momentum last year, but I think we need to go back to the drawing board to build excitement in amateur boxing again. But we must remain cautious and need to take Covid 19 seriously and I encourage the boxers to use this time to work on their mental health and stability,” he added.
