Swapo member of parliament Alpheus !Naruseb has been announced as the party’s new chief whip.
National Assembly speaker Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila on Wednesday announced that the party has changed its chief whip, a position previously held by Uahekua Herunga.
Herunga is the party’s deputy secretary.
“I have been informed that there is a change in the government. Uahekua Herunga has stepped down as chief whip and Alpheus !Naruseb is now the chief whip,” Kuugongelwa-Amadhila said.
Herunga has also resigned as the chairperson of the whole house committee and elections are expected to take place on Thursday.
