Swapo vice president and presidential candidate Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah on Friday told youth in the Kavango East region that she is not corrupt.
She also urged young people to shun corruption, adding that the youth should be prioritised in the country’s economic opportunities.
“I am allergic to corruption, I say no to corruption,” she said.
Speaking at a youth engagement, Nandi-Ndaitwah urged young people to raise their voice in economics, education, sports, agriculture, private health care, tourism and the fishing industry.
She said the nation yearns for a transformative shift towards effective self-delivery and increased welfare for Namibians.
“I would like to commend the Swapo Party Youth League for organising this dialogue and as they have informed me, there will be a series of dialogues leading up to November presidential and National Assembly elections,” Nandi-Ndaitwah said.
She said her party believes in innovation and the emancipation of young people, and emphasised the need for young people to have access to education and health.
“Based on that resolution, last year in Swakopmund, the topic for discussion was unemployment among the youth. One of the contributing factors of unemployment among the youth is because in the job market, people ask for experience and the young graduates don’t have any experience,” Nandi-Ndaitwah said.
