President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah on Wednesday paid tribute to Kenya’s former prime minister, Raila Odinga, who died on 15 October, describing him as a pan-Africanist.
Odinga died at the age of 80 in India.
“I have learnt with deep sadness of the passing of the former prime minister of Kenya, Raila Odinga, who dedicated his life to the service of his nation.
“He was a distinguished pan-Africanist who consistently championed the values of democracy,
justice, and human rights,” Nandi-Ndaitwah says.
She extends her heartfelt condolences on behalf of the government and Namibia to Kenya’s president, William Ruto, to Odingo’s wife, Ida Odinga, their children and the entire bereaved family, and to the people of Kenya.
She says Namibia stands in solidarity with the government and people of Kenya during this
difficult time.
“We keep you all in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
I am confident that the people of Kenya will find strength and unity in overcoming this great loss, which has deeply touched not only your nation but the African continent and the world at large,” she says.
