Nandi-Ndaitwah appoints Mkusa as new secretary to Cabinet

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has appointed ambassador Emilia Mkusa as secretary to Cabinet effective 1 May.

This was confirmed by State House press secretary Alfred Hengari on Tuesday.

Mkusa replaces George Simataa who has been in the position since 2015.

“Pursuant to Article 43 of the Constitution of the Republic of Namibia, her excellency Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has appointed ambassador Emilia Mkusa as the secretary to Cabinet, effective from 1 May.

“President Nandi-Ndaitwah expresses confidence in the ability of ambassador Mkusa to carry out the assigned tasks and wishes her well in the execution of her important duties,” he said.

Mkusa has experience in human resources management, financial governance, diplomatic relations, and parliamentary procedures.

She also served as ambassador to Ethiopia, Djibouti, South Sudan and Sudan.
