Namport warns public about fake vacancy adverts

The Namibian Ports Authority (Namport) has cautioned the public against falling for a scam in which fake vacancies are being posted on social media under the title ’Namport Recruitment 2023’.

“We would like to categorically state that these alleged vacancies are entirely false and have not been officially announced or authorised by our human capital team or any authorised representative within Namport,” a statement released by the company on Friday noted.

Namport called on the public to be cautious of false information circulating and noted that the misleading information has the potential to cause unwarranted confusion and disappointment.

According to the statement, Namport has established formal communication channels through which it disseminates information regarding job opportunities.

“These channels include the placement of official advertisements in local print media, updates on our official social media platforms, and our website www.namport.com.”
