Namport Erongo Trade Expo starts tomorrow

THE Namport Erongo Trade Expo starts tomorrow at the Walvis Bay Civic Centre and running till Saturday evening, offering to the region an exciting event in terms of trade, industry and entertainment.

This is the fourth consecutive year the expo is being hosted by Walvis Bay.Entrance is free of charge, and more than 160 indoor and outdoor stands, showcasing a variety of products and services, will be exhibited.Products range from the latest in tracking systems, optional energy solutions, digital signage, lubricants, beauty products, to toys such as radio controlled planes and helicopters. Auditing, assurance, parastatals and logistical companies and government institutions represent the services industry.In the special cuisine, beverage and catering hall connoisseurs can taste a variety of wines, while enjoying a variety of delicatessen. Also they may try Tika Bites’ chicken prepared according to a special Indian recipe. From the open-air stand visitors can pick and choose from stands selling hotdogs, hamburgers and barbecued meat.There will be two halls accommodating SMEs exhibiting arts, crafts and products manufactured from local raw materials.Standard Bank Namibia offers a special interest rate of Prime Less 1,5 percent to those visitors who wish to buy a new vehicle at the show. Ten vehicle dealers will showcase the latest vehicles, which include the new Mercedes Benz SLK, C Class, Nissan Juke (SUV), Hyundai Accent, Renault Megane Sport, Chevrolet Captiva and Orlando, Alfa Giulietta Distinctive, Fiat by Diesel, Volkswagen Jetta, and hopefully the Ford Ranger bakkie series. Also trucks and busses from Iveco and Mercedes Benz will be on show, while visitors from the mining, construction and shipping industry could view Bobcat’s machines.Entertainment for children has also been arranged, which include water slides and jumping castles.Three different shows will be staged in the entertainment tent: on Wednesday (19h00) Stefan Ludik and the group ‘Adam’ will take to the stage; while on Thursday (19:00) Andra and ‘TribeUnion’ will perform; and on Friday (19:00) George Longane, Vivian Molauly and the ‘Atlantic Singers’ will wow the audiences. Tickets can be bought in advance at Computicket at Shoprite/Checkers or at the expo office.On Friday from 11h00 to 13h00 the Namport Erongo Trade Expo Awards Ceremony will take place where the best overall, corporate and SME exhibitors will receive trophies, while the best exhibition from Erongo will be honoured with the Governor’s Trophy and the best exhibition from Walvis Bay with the Mayor’s Award. The exposition dates and times are: Wednesday from 13h00 to 21h00), Thursday and Friday from 08h00 to 21h00, and Saturday from 08h00 to 18h00.Namport sponsors this year’s expo, as well as those of 2012 and 2013 to the amount of N$750 000, while Standard Bank is the sponsor of the Standard Bank Auto Show with N$50 000 this year.
