Namibia’s food reserves at 16%

Deputy prime minister John Mutorwa has warned that Namibia’s food reserves stand at 16%.

Mutorwa addressed the National Assembly on Wednesday to request parliament to extend the state of emergency for drought in the country.

President Nangolo Mbumba recently announced a state of emergency due to the country’s severe drought circumstances.

“Livelihoods for the majority of Namibia are threatened,” he said.
