Honourable Amwelo, please give Namibians jobs in Roads Authority.
Congratulations, Honourable Minister, on gaining a respectful position on the SWAPO party list and on national level for firing the Roads Authority Board of Directors. Although the board was constituted of qualified Namibians, they failed to develop the skills of fellow Namibians. Many young engineers, technicians and administrative personnel have left the company due to well-engineered mistreatment by top management in favour of retired white Namibians and foreigners. The company management has managed to keep the unions outdoors by not filling the vacancies with semi-skilled and unskilled Namibians. The foreigners and contract employees are not allowed to join unions but they form the overall figure in determining the union representation.RA Management is anti-government and truly has the intention to derail Vision 2030.They are outsourcing cleaning services to consultants or service providers, thereby robbing many unskilled Namibians of social benefits such as pension, housing and medical. That means they have no interest in the welfare of Namibians. They know that their foreign brothers and sisters will not benefit from cleaning jobs in RA as employees, but surely will benefit as service providers on the open tender basis. Please see the Namibian of 24 September 2004 for a tender invitation for cleaning services at Roads Authority offices and weigh bridges. This is a revision of the contract labour system and a sell-out of Namibians.I would like the Minister of WTC to intervene and create jobs at RA offices throughout the country for Namibians.Affirmative Action Naweseb Roads Authority employee, taxpayer, road user and voter Katima MuliloAlthough the board was constituted of qualified Namibians, they failed to develop the skills of fellow Namibians. This is a revision of the contract labour system and a sell-out of Namibians.I would like the Minister of WTC to intervene and create jobs at RA offices throughout the country for Namibians.Affirmative Action Naweseb Roads Authority employee, taxpayer, road user and voter Katima Mulilo
