NAMIBIAN internationals attached to South African Premiership outfits continue to feature for their clubs as the PSL reached its third round this past weekend.

On Sunday, Robert Nauseb’s Santos earned a share of the spoils against George Hummel’s Moroka Swallows following a one-all draw in Cape Town. On the same day, Brave Warriors midfielder Sidney Plaatjies, who turns out for Jomo Cosmos, was yellow-carded in their 2-1 win against SuperSport United.Plaatjies however did not last long on the pitch as he was replaced in the 30th minute.Namibia’s other international employed by Cosmos, Abisai Shiningayamwe, continued to observe his teammates from a distance as he is still ruled out with injury. On Saturday, Black Leopards duo Ephraim Tjihonge and Hartman Toromba both played for the whole 90 minutes in the 2-0 triumph over Platinum Stars.Tjihonge kept a clean sheet in his bid to secure a starting berth ahead of first choice goalkeeper Mashudu Mamphitha, who is still injured.Silver Stars striker Henrico Botes did not play and watched the proceedings from the bench. After finishing as runners-up to Mamelodi Sundowns last season, Stars are having a disappointing start to the new season and their mentor Owen da Gama, has blamed the current scenario on the meaningful finances secured by the club.Stars are placed 12th on the log table, while Leopards are third. In one of the biggest shocks over the weekend, Richard Gariseb’s Bidvest Wits stunned South Africa’s glamour club Kaizer Chiefs with a 1-0 victory on Friday evening. The students are now second on the log.www.namibiasport.com.naOn the same day, Brave Warriors midfielder Sidney Plaatjies, who turns out for Jomo Cosmos, was yellow-carded in their 2-1 win against SuperSport United.Plaatjies however did not last long on the pitch as he was replaced in the 30th minute.Namibia’s other international employed by Cosmos, Abisai Shiningayamwe, continued to observe his teammates from a distance as he is still ruled out with injury. The students are now second on the log.www.namibiasport.com.na
