Namibian trio join FC AK in South Africa

AFRICAN Stars left winger Freedom Puriza, Ramblers striker Costa Khaiseb and Orlando Pirates defender Ivan Namaseb are set to sign for Mvela Golden League side FC AK this Friday.

The Namibian trio left for South Africa at the weekend and successfully completed trials with the first division side on Monday. Former Orlando Pirates coach Ali Akan now coaches FC AK, with former Bafana Bafana star Brandon Silent as his assistant.Puriza told The Namibian Sport from Johannesburg that they were given the green light to join the team next season and will only need to put pen to paper on Friday.”They have agreed in principle to sign us up.We cannot wait for Friday for this to happen,” said the under-20 national team player.Puriza and Namaseb have never played in the South African leagues, although Puriza at one stage had trials with South African Premier Soccer league club Moroka Swallows. He and his teammate at Stars, Johannes Seibeb were both not signed up after failing the trials.Khaiseb has previously played in that league for Black Leopards before he returned to the Ramblers fold last season.Akan initially had plans to take the three players to the club after he got the coaching contract earlier this year. The three players have already played on national level and represented their teams with distinction last season.Puriza will be the first foreign export from Stars, while Namaseb will also achieve that feat for the new season, after Pirates former defender Richard Gariseb was signed by Bidvest Wits two seasons ago.Former Orlando Pirates coach Ali Akan now coaches FC AK, with former Bafana Bafana star Brandon Silent as his assistant.Puriza told The Namibian Sport from Johannesburg that they were given the green light to join the team next season and will only need to put pen to paper on Friday.”They have agreed in principle to sign us up.We cannot wait for Friday for this to happen,” said the under-20 national team player.Puriza and Namaseb have never played in the South African leagues, although Puriza at one stage had trials with South African Premier Soccer league club Moroka Swallows. The three players have already played on national level and represented their teams with distinction last season.Puriza will be the first foreign export from Stars, while Namaseb will also achieve that feat for the new season, after Pirates former defender Richard Gariseb was signed by Bidvest Wits two seasons ago.
