Josea Aber (25) will be the first male model to represent Namibia at the Mr Universe 2026 pageant in Lucknow, India.

The youth mentor and pageant director from Otamanzi, a village in the north, says it will be an honour to represent the country on the global stage.

“As the first male model to represent our nation at this global pageant, I’m also reaching out to seek support from our amazing Namibian community,” he says.

Aber says this is more than a personal achievement – especially considering Namibia does not have a ‘Mr Namibia’ organisation.

“I think my participation will open doors for future male models,” he says.

Aber is the Mr African Forum Ambassador 2023, the founder of the Miss Teen Oshakati pageant and the Miss Top Regions Namibia pageant.

He is also the national director of Mr Universe Namibia, as well Mr Teen Universe Namibia.

Additionally, Aber provides local male models with training.

“With the pageant, I’m not only representing myself, but every young person who wants to dream beyond their background. I want to introduce Mr Universe Namibia next year and open doors for male models in Namibia.”

Currently studying counselling at Intellectus Campus at Ongwediva, Aber says his mission is bigger than fashion and pageantry.

“I have a lot to do for my country – youth empowerment, mentorship, promoting mental health, and creating opportunities. I’m ready to represent Namibia with pride, but I need support from both the public and private sector,” he says.

“During the competition, I’ll be showcasing our culture, beauty, and resilience. I’ll be sharing Namibia’s story on international media platforms and promoting our identity to the world.”

The Mr Universe pageant was founded by international event organiser Sunny Mishra and aims to bring men from different nations together while promoting culture and social change.
