The Ngepi Camp situated in the west Caprivi was recently named Africa’s Camp of the Year by South Africa’s Getaway magazine.
At an awards ceremony held in Johannesburg earlier this month, Ngepi owners Mark and Margie Adcock joined destinations like Sun City and Mala Mala in being recognised as one of the magazine’s top 10 Getaway Places for the year. The competition was promoted in the magazine for the past six months, with readers from across the continent sending in their suggestions.Among the camp’s attractions is a “floating swimming pool” in the Kavango River, which is in fact a caged in area in the river, separating swimmers from crocodiles and hippos in the surrounding waters.
