TWENTY-SEVEN-YEAR-OLD Ruth Haosemas won the best female artist award during the Mkigma Mpumakoloni International Awards ceremony in South Africa on 28 November.
Haosemas was nominated in four categories – best newcomer, best video recording, best artist of the year and best gospel female artist.
“I am delighted and honoured to have won this award by God’s grace. Initially, I was not expecting an award because my main focus was on the new experience and the fact that God made it possible for my music to go abroad,” the gospel sensation told The Namibian on Tuesday.
“This award came with a lot of prizes but the most important one I can share is that I got international recognition,” she added.
She thanked her fans for their prayers and support throughout this journey from her fans.
“I personally wouldn’t have gone this far on my own,” she said of her fans.
For 2022, Ruth wants to focus on gospel tours within the country and abroad.
She revealed that her team Holy Spirit National Movement wants to work with more international gospel artists.
“Lastly, I want to thank Holy Spirit National Movement (Jesus Focused Team) and management for all the support, including Eric Mule Video Production and DJ Kallo on the beat Studio, for having me. I’m looking forward to more fruitful moments in Studio,” the delighted gospel sensation said.
