In the spirited build-up to the impending Africa Cup of Nations 2023 in Ivory Coast, Namibia’s senior men’s national team is gearing up for a lead-in into the tournament with a friendly match against Ghana.

Set to take place at the renowned Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, Ashanti, on Monday,  8 January at 20h00, the international friendly holds immense importance for both Ghana and Namibia.

In Group E of the tournament, Namibia is set to face off against formidable opponents Tunisia, Mali and South Africa.

Confirming the friendly encounter, the Ghana Football Association said they view this fixture as an invaluable opportunity to fine-tune their strategies and test their mettle ahead of the championship.

Namibia has been diligently preparing for both the friendly and the Afcon tournament since arriving in Accra, Ghana, on the 28th December 2023 for a training camp.

As the Brave Warriors brace themselves for the challenging Group E lineup, the friendly against Ghana provides a crucial platform for testing strategies, tactics, and player coordination. – nfa.org.na
