The Namibia Premier Football League continues with matches countrywide while the NDTC Futsal Premier League finally reaches its conclusion on Sunday.
Cricket, hockey, bowls and road running are some of the other local sporting events on this weekend.
The T20 cricket lerague continues with Wanderers taking on log leaders United, while WHS Old Boys take on CCD.
The Standard Bank Hockey National Festival takes place at the WHS field, while the Namibian Bowls Closed Singles Championships take place with the men’s tournament at Eros Bowling Club and the women’s at Windhoek Bowling Club.
The Namibia Bowls Association will also hold its annual awards at the Eros Bowling Club on Saturday evening.
There will also be a lot of activity at the coast with the Namport Nedbank Powerhouse Challenge taking place at the Jan Wilken Stadium in Walvis Bay on Saturday and Sunday.
The event includes MTB and gravel races over 35km and 70km, and running and walking events over 5, 10 and 21,1km.
On Sunday there will be live music, foods and drinks for sale, while the award ceremony and lucky draws will be held at 11h00.
On the international stage the English Premiership contuinues with log leaders Arenal away to Burnley while struggling Liverpool, now seventh on the log, host Aston Villa who are just below them in eighth place.
The final of the Women’s Cricket World Cup takes place on Sunday with India, who beat Australia yesterday after a great comeback, taking on South Africa, who beat England in their semifinal.
