Namibia sends business delegation to Accra

INDUSTRIALISATION and trade minister Lucia Iipumbu will lead a business mission to the World Trade Centre Association (WTCA) general assembly to be held in Ghana from 21-28 April.According to a statement issued by the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI), interested corporates are invited to be part of the delegation.

Namibia will have an exhibition booth at the event to showcase Namibian products. This will also accord delegates an opportunity to participate in B2B meetings, company visits, business networking dinners, among other engagements, said the NCCI.

The key focus areas for Namibia will be agriculture, tourism promotion, energy, logistics and public infrastructure. The annual WTCA general assembly is the most prominent event on the organisation’s calendar, bringing together representatives and business delegations from world trade centres around the world to a new city each year.

The 2023 general assembly, is being hosted for the first time in sub-Saharan Africa in Accra, Ghana. This event will also mark the return of large physical gatherings of the WTCA after three years of restrictions due to the Covid pandemic. All Namibian delegates are to cover for all their own costs related to travel and accommodation.

According to the NCCI, departure from Namibia to Accra will be on 21 April and delegates are to make their own travel bookings and submit proof to NCCI.

In addition, delegate participation fees of US$463,35 are payable by 12 April.“This will give you access to all the event meeting sessions, B2B meetings, exhibitions, company tours including shuttles and meals during the official programmes and business networking cocktails,” said NCCIVirtual delegates (WTCA members and B2B delegates) are also to pay US$463,35.
