Namibia readies nationwide New Year’s Eve celebrations

As Namibia prepares to welcome 2026, a range of New Year’s Eve events are planned across the country, offering free and ticketed entertainment in several towns.

In Windhoek, the City of Windhoek will host its 2026 New Year Celebration – The All-White Party at the municipal head office Independence Avenue parking area on Wednesday.

Entry is free, with performances expected from Azmo Newy, Big Ben, Jaliza, DJ Stizzo, Shax Champion, Wild Dogs Music Group and James Omlongo, among others.

At Katutura, Bar 2000 will host a township-style New Year’s Eve event featuring Shanky Briz, DJ Siya and Mdu Fire Drummer. The event is free to attend and will include music, food and social activities.

Further north, Eden Lounge at Ondangwa will host a countdown event headlined by Gazza and Latoya Stella. Gazza, known for blending kwaito, reggae and dancehall, will perform alongside Latoya, whose music reflects everyday township experiences.

In the Otjozondjupa region, Tate Sammy Beer House No 2 at Okakarara will host performances by Vangxa Katuuo, Zemi Boy and Rax Kandjoze.

Across social media, fans have shared posters and updates, signalling renewed public interest in live music events after a subdued festive period.

From Windhoek’s city centre to towns such as Ondangwa and Okakarara, New Year’s Eve celebrations are set to bring communities together through music as the country marks the transition into 2026.
