NAMIBIAN representatives did a good job of marketing the country’s fishing industry at the recent International Seafood Expo held in Brussels, Belgium.
The strategy used by the Namibian trade delegation attracted many visitors to the stand, says Volker Kuntzsch, Chairman of the Confederation of Namibian Fishing Associations. “This was our first entrance into this expo.We had a small stand and no fish. All we had was our confidence in Namibia’s existing fishing industry and prospective aquaculture sector as our point of promotion,” Kuntzsch said in a press release.”Miss Namibia 2004, Adele Basson, was also with us and with the support of Namibia Breweries, plus our wooden giraffes, we were able to market our products while being able to offer the visitors to our stand true Namibian beer with true Namibian beauty and some culture.”He said the expo was a successful experience for Namibia, which was among 1 600 exhibitors from 77 countries, and that Namibian representation next year will be “bigger and more impressive”.The International Seafood Expo has become the biggest seafood-product show in the world since its inception 20 years ago.The expo is used as a platform for marketing seafood products and fostering trade links.”This was our first entrance into this expo.We had a small stand and no fish. All we had was our confidence in Namibia’s existing fishing industry and prospective aquaculture sector as our point of promotion,” Kuntzsch said in a press release.”Miss Namibia 2004, Adele Basson, was also with us and with the support of Namibia Breweries, plus our wooden giraffes, we were able to market our products while being able to offer the visitors to our stand true Namibian beer with true Namibian beauty and some culture.”He said the expo was a successful experience for Namibia, which was among 1 600 exhibitors from 77 countries, and that Namibian representation next year will be “bigger and more impressive”.The International Seafood Expo has become the biggest seafood-product show in the world since its inception 20 years ago.The expo is used as a platform for marketing seafood products and fostering trade links.
