Namibia in Numbers

Population Pyramid: Namibia’s population pyramid, which assesses the number of individuals by age group, shows an expansive population with a broad base and narrow top. This is standard for a developing nation, however, in 2011, age groups 10-14 and 15-19 were larger than age group 5-9. This is explained by Namibia’s higher fertility rate, which increased from 3.6 in 2011 to 3.8 in 2023. The female population exceeds the male population in all age groups, except for those aged 15-19 and 20-24. Females continue to outlive males in Namibia, with the number of reported deaths for males higher than for females across all ages except for the 80+ age group, despite the presence of more females in Namibia.
