GOVERNMENT has called on citizens to suggest names of cultural or historic significance for the eight halls of the new State House in Auasblick, Windhoek.

A statement said yesterday that Cabinet had decided to invite the public to submit names and that each proposed name should be accompanied by a short motivation, indicating the cultural or historic significance of the proposal. They must submit the proposals in writing to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Transport and Communication, Private Bag 13341, Windhoek.The deadline for submissions is Friday, March 30.After the deadline, the proposed names will be submitted to a ministers’ committee to take a final decision.The public will be informed of the successful proposals to name the new State House halls.Further information can be obtained from Namandje Amunime at the Ministry of Works, Transport and Communication at telephone number 208 8809.They must submit the proposals in writing to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Transport and Communication, Private Bag 13341, Windhoek.
