The National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (Namcor) has revealed that the corporation suffered no financial losses due to the armed robbery at its Soweto service station at Katutura in Windhoek on Monday.
This is due to the dealer-owned-dealer-operated model under which the service station operates. The site is independently owned and managed by a dealer, while Namcor provides fuel and branding.
“Namcor expresses sympathy and support to the dealer affected by this unfortunate event,” a statement by the fuel company reads.
They have confirmed that authorities are conducting a full investigation and encourage anyone with information about the incident to contact the police.
“Namcor also provides the necessary assistance to the dealer and remains committed to prioritising the safety and well-being of our dealers, customers and staff,” the statement says.
