Namcloud Lauded For ‘Learners 4 U’

Since losing his beloved cousin in a car accident several years ago, Kenneth Goeieman, a self taught IT expert, has gone on to create a whole new platform with which to reach and educate today’s tech savvy youth on road safety.

“It really was a blow to me and I thought I have to do something to help raise awareness on road safety, but to also change the way we learn about it to help the message come across more effectively,” said the young entrepreneur.

After spending years as an instructional designer at various large companies, Kenneth grew frustrated at being able to reach only a handful of students in a classroom and saw the need to develop software that would be accessible to people everywhere in a language and context they understand fully.

He left his comfortable corporate career to start IT company Namcloud and has since worked tirelessly to introduce professional homegrown IT solutions to the market.

In addition to a comprehensive range of IT software and training solutions, Kenneth has spent countless hours researching traffic laws, training guides and numerous international sources to produce Namibia’s first interactive e-leaners license programme.

The ‘Learners 4 U’ programme is fully SADC complaint, has numerous exercises to keep learning fun and is interactive. It is also updated regularly with the latest signs and traffic law amendments.

This innovative technology and his many other products are a testament to this young man’s mission to “empower people everywhere through technology”.

“Technology and the internet are such incredible resources. If used effectively, they can break through so many barriers. Take the ‘Learners 4 U’ programme, many people struggle to simply memorise the learner license book. With an interactive system, there’s feedback, so you learn the information faster and more effectively. You can quickly download the programme, use our SMS server to pay N$60 for your license fee and off you go. No more struggling trying to source a book that may be outdated, or which may also get damaged or lost. Now you have visual aides and over 1 000 interactive questions to help you prepare for your test,” he added.

The programme is a compact 150mb to save you data when downloading from www.learners4u.com and a N$60 fee is required to access your 60 day license. This can be done using cellphone banking or via their secure SMS server.

“We do this to help maintain the high level of content, buy international software licenses and it also acts as incentive for the student to commit to the process.”

CDs are available from AA Namibia outlets nationwide or can be ordered directly from from the Namcloud website or by visiting them at the Bokamosa Incubation Centre, Numbler B10, Hans Dietrech Genschner Street, Katutura.

They are planning to launch versions in indigenous languages soon, so visit their stall at the Ongwediva Trade Fair to find out more information on this exciting product.

The software is currently only available for Windows and a mobile version is in the works so make sure to check out the Namcloud website for more news from this exciting proudly Namibian company and the inspiring young man behind it.
