Nabta appoints Oshana leaders

THE Namibian Bus and Taxi Association (Nabta) has appointed Helen Shiimbi as acting chairperson of Nabta in the Oshana Region, with Leonard Amwele as her deputy.

Nabta President Magnus Nangombe said Shiimbi is replacing Pendapala Nakathingo, who was suspended last year as Oshana regional chairman because he was not appointed or elected according to the NABTA constitution. Nangombe said the post of deputy chairperson was created because there was a lot of work in the Oshana branch. He called upon Nabta members in the Oshana Region to give Shiimbi and Amwele their full support.Nangombe thanked the Swakopmund Municipality for setting up a modern taxi rank and urged bus and taxi owners to make use of it.”We at Nabta pledge our commitment and our wholehearted support to the Municipality of Swakopmund for the smooth running of the taxi rank,” Nangombe said, and called upon other towns to follow the good example set by Swakopmund.Nangombe said the post of deputy chairperson was created because there was a lot of work in the Oshana branch. He called upon Nabta members in the Oshana Region to give Shiimbi and Amwele their full support.Nangombe thanked the Swakopmund Municipality for setting up a modern taxi rank and urged bus and taxi owners to make use of it.”We at Nabta pledge our commitment and our wholehearted support to the Municipality of Swakopmund for the smooth running of the taxi rank,” Nangombe said, and called upon other towns to follow the good example set by Swakopmund.
