Nabta appeals for safe driving

THE President of the Namibia Bus and Taxi Association (Nabta), Magnus Nangombe, has called on bus owners to employ two drivers per bus in the interest of road safety this festive season.

“Nabta requests once again all bus owners to make sure that two qualified drivers are employed per bus during pick-up days,” said Nangombe in a statement. He also reminded bus owners to tell their drivers to refrain from customer grabbing, reckless driving, speeding, drunk driving and overloading to minimise road accidents.Nangombe warned Nabta members to be vigilant against non-Nabta members, whom he accused of causing division among the association’s members for their own personal gain.He called on bus and taxi owners in the North to bury their differences and unite for the benefit of the transport industry.Nabta is a stakeholder in the Save Lives national road-safety campaign.
