N$10m facelift for Thueringer Hof

THE Ohlthaver and List Group (O&L) and its subsidiary Namib Sun Hotels Group (NSH) yesterday announced plans to refurbish the Thueringer Hof Hotel situated in Windhoek’s centre business district.

The N$10 million refurbishment of the hotel began at the end of last month and is expected to be completed early next year. It is part of a greater plan to upgrade the group’s hotel and tourism establishments.NHS provides accommodation and resort hospitality in or near most major Namibian tourist attractions and business centres, and its portfolio includes the Mokuti Lodge, Strand Hotel, Midgard Lodge and the Kings’ Den Lodge.The refurbishment is aimed at establishing the Thueringer Hof as a functional accommodation establishment for the business market segment.O&L plans to equip the hotel with a diverse range of public facilities and services for the middle and higher income business market segment.The new facilities would include a multi-functional-conference room, travel information centre and basic office functions.Addressing the gathering O&L chief executive officer, Sven Thieme said:”The current depressed state of our tourism-sector does not demean the confidence we have in our tourism sector.Surely, the going is tough!
