Khloe Kardahsian’s husband Lamar Odom speaks out about his heartbreaking childhood on the season premiere of E!’s ‘Khloe and Lamar’.

The LA Lakers star player, who has been estranged from his father Joe for many years, talks about his father being a drug addict.The emotional scene comes after Joe calls Lamar on his cell phone and Khloe pushes him to answer it.’My father’s a heroin addict,’ Odom says.’I had my mother around until I was 12-years-old when she passed away and after that my father wasn’t around.’’I witnessed things that a 10-year-old definitely wasn’t supposed to see… It’s hard for me to speak up on it and get it through to Khloe because she grew up so different.’Lamar’s mother died of colon cancer when he was 12, and he was then raised by his grandmother Mildred.On the show, 26-year-old Khloe pushes for the Joe and Lamar to reconcile, but 31-year-old Lamar is resistant.It all started when Joe Odom turns up unannounced to one of Khloe’s book signings.He approached Khloe at the event and told her he would like to reconnect with his son and attend some of his basketball games.Khloe, unsure about the issues between the father and son, approached Lamar with the idea and he becomes distressed.But after a phone call Lamar receives from Joe asking his son for money, Khloe begins to understand where her husband is coming from.In the new series, Khloe also continues to speak frequently about her desire to start a brood. She discusses the process of trying with her best friend and personal assistant Malika Haqq, who gives her advice on the subject while Lamar is in the room.’Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, you need to make a lot of love because you’re ovulating!’ she says.But Lamar disagrees and says: ‘I like to pop-off spontaneously.’As Khloe and Lamar are reunited in their hotel room, the couple indulge in champagne and strawberries as they continue to spice up their love life. ‘Lamar has an away game and we made a rule that if he is away for over a week and if I can come and see him I will,’ says Khloe.The new reality series is designed to chronicle the couple’s life after their whirlwind marriage in 2009. Khloe’s younger brother Rob Kardashian also plays a big part of the series, living with the newly-weds in their new mansion.But his constant presence and bonding sessions with Lamar starts to bug Khloe, who wants more time with Lamar to herself. In the series, Khloe also has to compete with another male for her husband’s attention. Lamar’s oldest friend, Jamie, who suffered a life-threatening illness some years ago is consistently around and Khloe believe that that he is taking advantage of her husband’s kind nature.Khloe also later clashes with Malika in the series when Malika starts making a play for her brother Rob. Khloe is furious and when Malika tries to quit working for the star, an argument ensues. Khloe and Lamar were married in a lavish ceremony held at a private residence in Beverly Hills in September 2009 after a whirlwind courtship of just one month.The reality star’s sisters Kim and a then pregnant Kourtney both were bridesmaids.Khloe walked down an outdoor aisle in a Vera Wang dress that featured a long train while her elder siblings wore lilac gowns.’American Idol’ host Ryan Seacrest, Kelly Osbourne and Odom’s Lakers teammate Kobe Bryant were among the 250 guests to attend the black-tie affair.- www.dailymail.co.uk
