‘MY CULTURE, MY PRIDE’ …

About 4 400 students graduated from the University of Namibia (Unam) on Wednesday and yesterday. One of the graduates, Tuarirovangu Kasirua (23), who completed her bachelor’s degree in law, says having represented a minority group on the students’ representative council, she is proud to have obtained her degree, since minorities are often looked down upon. Kasirua says the inspiration behind her graduation outfit was getting back to her roots. Speaking at the event, minister of higher education, technology and innovation Itah Kandjii-Murangi lauded the granduates for their commitment. Among the group were 12 master’s degree candidates from the Faculty of Education and Human Sciences. Kandjii-Murangi said the education system depends on knowledge, skills and expertise in various disciplines. Photo: Contributed
