My All

His sweet cologne paralysed the oestrogen hormones in my system. I gazed at his iron-like chest.

“You must add five more minutes to your sleep,” he whispered. He softly embraced me under him. “Feel safe, I am your man”. My soul connected to him in a very special way. If I was WiFi network, I wouldn’t have required a password.

Faydee is a guy I met at the darkest time of my life. My first encounter with him was when he swarmed into the aggressive Atlantic Ocean at Swakopmund to save my life. After rejection by my family because of an unwanted pregnancy, I resorted to help in different churches. Instead of eradicating my trauma, they added petrol on burning fire through biblical judgement. I have countless relatives, some are well- known rich people in this country. I tried seeking asylum in their lives. What I gained was nothing but sourness.

I found myself camping in the midst of the Namib Desert. I survived on a small oasis nearby, eating some few insects that I roasted. When I gave birth to my young one, she departed from this world. Her innocent body was eaten by the desert’s wild animals. There was no reason to live. I entirely had nothing to accomplish. I had no human being status but was mere trash, worthy of death and eternal condemnation.

When I threw myself in the ocean, I never expected that Kaydee would mysteriously appear to save me.

I felt the iron hands reaching out for my tiny body. The last thing I saw was a warm smile covered by milky white teeth. A smile that reflected the virtue of hope. The smile that I beheld this morning in our matrimonial bed.

He softly kissed my forehead. “You will never be alone my girl, you are worth more than anything else. Hold my hand and I will take you anywhere.” I felt all emotions gathering in me. It has been two years since Kaydee picked me up from the pit of death, yet it still feels like yesterday. I held him tight as I shed tears of bliss. My Kaydee! My all!
