MVA Fund bring services to Hardap

Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Fund chief executive Rosalia Martins-Hausiku, Hardap region, 6 March 2025

In an effort to bring services closer to the people, the Fund on Wheels programme is currently engaging various communities in the Hardap region.

The week-long community outreach programme commenced on Monday, 3 March, and will run until Saturday, 8 March.

The programme aims to increase road safety awareness in the region, educate the public about the fund’s mandate, benefits, and the fund’s claims process. The team is accompanied by MVA Fund case coordinators who are assisting with the registration of new claims, responding to claim enquiries and advising on the claim status of claimants in the region.

To ensure everyone is assisted, the team comprises employees who speak the local language spoken in the region.

The MVA Fund decided to take services closer to the communities in the region to mitigate the challenges of incomplete claims, which could lead to repudiation if all the necessary documents are not submitted within the prescribed one-year deadline.

The team is also conducting public education and awareness sessions through direct engagement and mass media, including live broadcasts on selected NBC radio language services. The community outreach is visiting the towns of Gibeon, Aranos, Stampriet, Maltahöhe, Kalkrand and Mariental with activations at various schools.

Members of these communities are encouraged to participate to gain valuable information about their entitlement to the benefits and services offered by the MVA Fund.
