Since its inception, GOtv viewers have long enjoyed the benefits of the Value, Plus and Lite packages.
As of Sunday, 1 October, viewers will have even more entertainment in store thanks to the launch of the new package, GOtv Max.
“The introduction of GOtv was a strategic decision,” Roger Gertze, MultiChoice Namibia’s general manager, said.
“The launch has positively contributed to growth and in the last five years, GOtv has evolved.” He further added that GOtv viewers, dubbed GOgetters, are able to access more entertainment and sport on the new package.
“We recognise that we are living in tough economic times and we wanted to deliver great news.”
GOtv Max promises viewers four new channels – particularly Sony Max, SuperSport Select Four, Fox Entertainment as well as CBS Reality – due to popular demand. More local content meant to cater solely to Namibians was introduced as well.
Local channels such as NBC1, NBC2, One Africa television, Channel 7, Energy 100FM as well as Radiowave, Shipi FM and Rapids FM will be available on the GOtv platform.
“Rapids FM broadcasts in all languages and we are very excited to have them on board,” Gertze said.
But that’s not all. GOtv viewers can get a taste of GOtv Max as it will be open to all users from 1 to 31 October. Placed above the other packages, MultiChoice Namibia is hoping the channel will expose viewers to new content with popular programmes such as ‘Empire’, ‘Judge Judy’ and of course, La Liga for football lovers.
The announcement may have created a buzz among the media, but it was the interesting activation at the MultiChoice Namibia headquarters that sparked a picture frenzy.
Various areas, meant to represent the new channels on GOtv Max, saw a tattoo parlour, crime scene, boxing ring and snippet into Cookie and Luscious Lyon’s home – with two models aptly playing the part – set up.
“We remain committed to delivering the best entertainment that is affordable in order to give millions of television viewers the opportunity to enjoy quality digital entertainment,” Gertze said. Local distributors have also come on board in terms of real time integration which will officially be implemented in the weeks to come.
