A 48- year-old woman from Ompugulu village allegedly died after she choked on a piece of meat.
The incident happened at Onambugulu village in the Oshikoto region on Friday afternoon.
According to information from the police, the deceased, whose name has been withheld, was attending a memorial service where she was served meat along with other mourners.
“After she allegedly swallowed a chunk of meat, she appeared to be choking and started coughing before she collapsed. She was rushed to the Onandjokwe hospital where she was pronounced dead minutes later,” reported Oshikoto region police regional commander Theopoline Kalompo-Nashikaku.
