The life of a child is the most precious and immeasurable gift to society. These bright eyed, snotty-nosed blessings have limitless potential if we as parents, guardians and the rest of ‘the village’ play our part by providing an environment in which they can be free to live, love and learn.
Unfortunately, the reality is that many children grow up on the harsher side of life without someone to take care of them while at their most vulnerable. In 2008, Hope Village opened its doors to do just that – love, care for and protect children in need.
Pastor Marietjie de Klerk, founder of Hope Village, beams as she wrangles scores of excited young children as they welcome Motovac country manager Vineet Sachdeva, who, on behalf of the Mototvac group of companies, donated N$ 10 000 to the home and its 84 children.
Established in 2008, Motovac has built an extensive network across Namibia and is still growing.
Having first opened its first location in 1983, Motovac (Pty) Ltd Botswana grew to build a formidable network across Botswana. The world was next and now the Motovac group of companies has a presence in Botswana, South Africa, Angola, India, Namibia and the UK.
They have built their reputation for the sale of quality spare parts and the best customer service to the wholesale, retail and government markets. Their comprehensive range of products includes body panels, engine parts, suspension parts, lamps and accessories, borehole diesel engines and its spares, to mention a few.
Their global supply base offers an obvious advantage to provide quality parts at the right price. They import the best parts and accessories from trusted sources in Australia, Italy, India, Japan, Korea, Thailand and the UK.
To commemorate World Aids Day, the Motovac group of companies in Namibia and Botswana held polls on social media to find a deserving charity. The overwhelming response from Namibia was Hope Village.
“It was such a lovely surprise when Motovac approached us with the donation. It is early in the year and getting all the school uniforms and supplies for over 80 children was quite an expenditure, so this donation really is a blessing,” said De Klerk.
“Hope Village is home to many precious children and we as the business community must do all we can to support those in need. We, the Motovac group, take great satisfaction from being able to assist this special place and we have learned and gained so much through this experience,” said Sachdeva while playing with some of the pre-schoolers we met while there.
Apart from caring for children, Hope Village also offers many child-related services and hope to one day add vocational training to their list of life changing services. There is a constant need for supplies and support, so contact Hope Village to see how you can assist.
