Popular South African DJ, performer, producer, and songwriter Kelvin Momo will be headlining Namibia’s much-anticipated Private School Masterclass festival.
Momo is the self-proclaimed ‘Soulful King’, and has been creating production mixes and churning out songs over the years.
The Private School Masterclass festival is scheduled for 4 November at Vegkop Stadium in Windhoek.
The event, organised by ChillHub, will feature international and local DJs, food stands, and other entertainment activities.
Organiser Neville Karimbue, known as Basie Mswenko, says the event aims to creat a platform for young entrepreneurs to build relationships, as well as for local DJs to perform alongside international artists like Momo.
Local supporting acts to entertain at the festival include DJ StigaHouse, DJ Dreas, DJ Alba Nalo, Tumi Mohammed, Soul Brothers, DJ Kiki, Ice Crystals, Pequeno Gang, DJ Kieran X, Antz, Freddy, and KayTee.
“Each and every act brings their own unique style to the scene, keeping the people on their toes and making sure they enjoy each and every second of the festival.
“The line-up selection is always well curated by the team,” Mswenko says.
He says festivalgoers can expect munchies from the likes of Cuzen Kapana and many more, while refreshments at the Gin Corner and Wine Bar will be on offer.
ChillHub has hosted numerous events before, such as Mellow Vibes in 2018, which was attended by 750 people, The Vibe Thrive in 2019, which 1 400 people attended, and Absolute Youth Festival in 2019, which 2 380 people attended.
The company has also hosted events headlined by Blxckie, Pabi Cooper, Zuma, Tumelo, Musa Keys, Buhle, and Seemah.
“The most recent event we hosted took place in September, called High School Music Festival, which took place at St. George’s sport field, and featured a few acts from South Africa, such as Seemah, Omaan, and the duo Babu and Figo.
“This was strictly for high school children, bringing them closer to their TikTok idols, and a day for the children to come together and have fun,” Mswenko says.
