The Momentum Junior Golf Series is set to debut in Windhoek at the end of this month, the organisers say.

This premier tournament series aims to nurture and promote junior athletes, providing them with a platform to develop their skills and passion for sport.

Building on the success of the 2023 series, which saw 34 participants from 10 different schools, the 2024 edition promises to be even more impactful.

Last year’s series comprised six events, and this year, the series will expand to eight events running from April to November.

The goal is to increase the total number of participants from 34 to 60 junior athletes, reflecting the growing interest in and enthusiasm for junior golf in Windhoek.

“It’s great to witness junior golf’s growth with the Momentum Junior Golf Series. It’s a joy to see players improve and embark on their development journey,” says Damian da Silva, the tournament’s director.

“The Momentum Junior Golf Series serves as a developmental platform for junior athletes, offering them opportunities for competition and growth,” says Denille Roostee, Momentum Metropolitan’s head of marketing.

“The series reflects our commitment to nurturing young talent and fostering a culture of fair play and excellence, which are fundamental values within our corporation.

“We eagerly anticipate the series’ expansion, providing invaluable opportunities for aspiring athletes to showcase their skills and passion for the sport,” she says.

Additionally, she encourages all young golf enthusiasts to participate.

Starting on 29 April at the Windhoek Golf & Country Club, the series offers a consistent schedule of events throughout the year, providing junior athletes with regular opportunities to showcase their abilities.

The series is open to all skill levels and includes various divisions and age groups, ensuring fair and competitive play.

Participants can anticipate development opportunities, recognition, awards, and a fun experience throughout the series, with prize-giving ceremonies after each tournament and a final ceremony honouring the series winner.
